2017 Lamborghini Urus Release date and Price

One of the most luxurious SUVs is the new 2017 Lamborghini Urus. The Urus is a concept car which has been first released by Lamborghini back in 2012 with plans on actually making a production model. However, Lamborghini decided that it is best to wait because they thought that the then-current platform was not up to the task of underpinning one of their high performance cars.

Times change though and with the all new MLB Evo platform which VW released with the all new Q7, Lamborghini now confirmed that the Urus is finally going to be built which is great news for everyone because it means that the Italian manufacturer will finally be able to compete with marques such as Porsche or Bentley.

Under the Hood

Engine wise, the 2017 Lamborghini Urus is likely going to hit the market with a single engine choice which will be very similar to that of the Huracan. This will be powered by a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10 which will make the Urus a fine choice for people looking for pure driving experience. While the engine is not really the most powerful or even the most fuel efficient on the market, thanks to the fact it is a naturally aspirated unit, it should provide a lot of fun to the driver of the car. Early rumors suggest an output of around 500 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque which is quite impressive for any car.

Luckily though, this is not going to be the only available engine on the car. Later down the road, Lamborghini also plans on introducing a hybrid as well as a more powerful petrol engine in a future SV model. The hybrid is likely going to be the same as that of the Cayenne while the SV model could receive Audi’s 4 liter twin-turbo V8 which might be tuned to make as much as 700 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque in which case the Urus could hit 60 MPH in around 3.5 seconds and hit a maximum top speed of 200 MPH, thus becoming the fastest SUV ever made.

Luxury Design – Inside and Outside look

The exterior of the car, while not actually released to the public so far, will be very similar to that of the concept car which was first launched back in 2012. Lamborghini’s CEO even wanted to say that the design will be pretty much identical which is not that bad, especially since that car was pretty much spot on when it comes to the usual Lamborghini style and the perfect SUV proportions.

Inside look

The big change will come with the interior of the 2017 Lamborghini Urus which has been confirmed to be a lot more conventional than that of the concept car. This means it will not feature only four seats and it will not offer the minimalistic look of the 2012 concept. Instead, many people suggested that the production model would get a similar design to that of the Huracan when it comes to the dashboard, steering wheel and instrument cluster while the seating layout inside the cabin will be pretty much identical to that found in the newest model of the Audi Q7. The difference will come in the luggage compartment which will be quite a bit smaller in the Urus than in any other car in its class.

2017 Lamborghini Urus Price and Release date

Just as we mentioned, the 2017 Lamborghini Urus is going to be built on the same platform as the Cayenne, the Q7 or even the Bentayga, three of its major competitors. However, unlike the three other VW Group models, the Lamborghini will offer less space and it is expected to be one of the most powerful of the bunch.

The actual release date and price are unknown but it is safe to assume that it will be cheaper than the Bentayga with an expected starting price of around $140,000 and it should be available for sale by the end of 2017. On the other hand, according to the some rumors price of this luxury SUV will be around 200,000 dollars.

The biggest rivals are Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Bentley EXP 9 F.
