Buick has recently added a few cars to their current line up, but it seems that the American manufacturer is still losing customers, because they don’t have all types of vehicles that are popular at this moment – for example, they have no model between Buick Enclave and the Buick Encore. However, this is all about to change, since the manufacturer is just a few months away from unveiling the all-new 2017 Buick Envision.
New Design – Exterior and Interior
First thing you need to know about the upcoming Buick Envision for 2017 is that it is going to be a mid-size luxury crossover completely manufactured in China, which is a first for Buick. When it comes to the exterior design, the new Envision will have a classic Buick design – large front grille, large headlights, large wheels and aggressive overall look. The front grille will be the one that we have seen only on the newest Buick models – made out of chrome with thick outline and it will house the Buick logo.
The headlights will have an irregular shape with LED-only elements and will come with integrated LED daytime running lights. The back of the crossover will come with LED taillights that will look like they are connected by a thick chrome bar on top of which is located Buick logo. The manufacturer decided to use a smaller rear bumper with integrated rear diffuser with twin exhaust pipes. The official images show the crossover in a light brown color, while the 2017 Buick Envision will be available in many different colors.
Since the 2017 Envision is a mid-size luxury crossover, the design and the feel in the interior is very important to potential buyers. The American manufacturer decided to use a newly designed multi-functional leather steering wheel that comes with metallic accents. The dashboard will be made out of soft-touch plastic with wooden, metallic and leather accents.
The touch screen display used for infotainment and satellite navigation will be located in the center of the dashboard and it should be one of the biggest in this segment. The official images of the new 2017 Envision show the dashboard in black combined with leather seats and leather door trim in dark brown.
The Engine range & Specs
The 2017 Envision will come with two different engines. First engine will be the 1.4l turbocharged inline-4 engine that produces 165 horsepower and 159 lb-ft of torque. This unit is supposed to be the one for customers that are looking for a fuel-efficient mid-size luxury crossover (and there are no many like this on the market).
Second engine will be the 2.0l engine (developed in China and used in some of their models) that produces 256 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be offered with all-wheel drive and 6-speed automatic transmission.
2017 Buick Envision Price
The price of the base version of the upcoming crossover should start at around $30,000. But, some reports suggest than official info we could expect in second quarter of this year.
The 2017 Buick Envision will be unveiled in the next few months, while it will most probably go on sale in late 2016.
