2017 BMW M7

It seems that M6 will soon be dethroned as flagship M car of BMW’s lineup. Future, 2017 BMW M7 will actually be a full-size 7 series sedan with more than M sport package. Needless to say, it will offer more than competitive figures from its powertrain in order to fight some of the best cars in existence.

Under the Hood – prediction

It seems that above mentioned competitive figures will come from nothing less than 6.6L V-12 mill which should easily generate more than 600 horsepower. While we don’t have exact figures, it is likely that such a powerful engine will easily push M7 to a new heights when it comes to large sedan’s acceleration.

2017 BMW M7

Engine V12

Transmission Eight-Speed Automatic (Est.)
Horsepower @ RPM 625 (Est.)
Displacement 6.0 L
0-60 time 4 sec. (Est.)
Top Speed 155 mph (Est.)

In true luxury car fashion, performance-oriented car will get a complex automatic transmission, but we still don’t know whether it will be rear or all-wheel drive car. Our bet, however, would be on the latter.

Design – Inside and Outside look

Design-wise, you’ll still be able to recognize M7 as a 7 series sport-oriented sedan, without much trouble. Less keen eye will likely mistake it for slightly smaller M5, but then again, these couple of cars will share plenty of details between them. Apart from beefier bumpers and side skirts, expect 2017 BMW M7 to carry over Bavarian maker’s signature details like split grille, handsome lights (both up front and around the back) and unparalleled combination of both curves and angular details.

Rear end spoiler would be a fine addition, but it most likely won’t be offered on standard models. Finally, special M-package exhaust tips will find their way to the new M7 the same way they found their way to the rest of M lineup.

Inside look

As it is the case pretty much every time one speaks of future cars, interior is the last thing that gets presented. At this point, there are no details about 2017 BMW M7’s cabin, but if you take a look at current 7 series lineup, you can get pretty clear picture nonetheless. Leather seats will be bolstered with unique inserts, while cabin accents will be made out of aluminum and natural wood.

Full list of convenience options should also be carried over from conventional 7 series models, but this time, nothing will be changed. Expect M7 to offer the package which matches one of top tiers, but not the exact top tier at that. Same should work for available safety systems which performance-oriented car will certainly need.

2017 BMW M7 Price & MPG

Conventional models can’t really boast with good fuel efficiency numbers, but at least they are trying. M7, should exhibit even lower figures than 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway which 7 series sedan with V-8 currently makes. Price tag of over $100,000 was never questioned, but exact figure could be even larger than that.

Competition: Cadillac CTS-V and Mercedes-Benz S63 4MATIC.

2017 BMW M7 combines couple of premium features that every luxury car aspires to; top level of refinement and superb performance. High-performing sedan represents one of the best options if you desire the absolute best from these couple of categories, but also adds tech-savvy cabin and lots of other advantages that usually go with top BMW models.
