One more convertible coming, new 2016 Lamborghini Estoque. When looking at Lamborghini Estoque, one can’t think anything but how things were different (and better) before the global economic recession of 2009. Apart from the fact that many manufacturers used stronger engines (which can be disputed as being better), there were plenty of concepts and former nameplates which were later canceled.
Sadly, Lamborghini’s 4-door sedan never reached the production state, most likely because of the aforementioned recession. This doesn’t mean that Estoque concept was far-fetched – it was just introduced at a wrong time.
The Engine range
Concept from 2008 Paris Auto Show came with 5.2L V10 engine straight from Lamborghini Gallardo. There are circulations about possible production model being ready for 2016 or sometime later. What kind of engine would it use is still disputable. It might come with everything from V8 to V12, or possibly even a hybrid mill. What is known is that as a 4-door sedan, 2016 Lamborghini Estoque will cling to a front engine – front-wheel drive layout.
Design – Inside and Outside look
Full-size luxury car should be offered as a convertible too. In this form, it will likely come with only couple of doors in a coupe body, but that’s not what’s relevant. What is relevant is the fact that sword-named car is as sharp as a sword. Estoque stands for matador’s blade, and Lamborghini’s iteration of it really looks good. Slightly simpler design has been used when compared to flagship Aventador model, for instance.
Low to the ground, 2016 Lamborghini Estoque convertible combines both sharp and curved lines in best possible way for both good look and performance alike. Low nose up front doesn’t have a grille, but executes somewhat large lower air intake. Around the back, car should be more angular and we’ll see which exhausts will Italians choose to blend into it (depending on engine).
Speaking about its interior is still not a good idea. Nothing has been revealed so far, and we can only wild guess for now. Still, some things are no-brainers, and carbon fiber and aluminum accents complemented with premium leather seat upholstery and dashboard covers are some of these. 2016 Lamborghini Estoque convertible will likely use advanced infotainment system as well, which should come with navigation and other helpful tech from the get-go.
Recaro seats would be a fine addition, but they don’t have to be a necessary option. Space might be a problem, for, even though it is a full-size car, low roof and sporty elegant design could limit the rear seat to smaller adults or even children.
2016 Lamborghini Estoque Price details
There aren’t many exact figures we could hold on to when it comes to 2016 Lamborghini Estoque convertible, and the fact that wild guess of a price range is one of them, speaks for itself. Oh, the figure is between $200,000 and $250,000, by the way.
2016 Lamborghini Estoque convertible is a long-awaited exotic sedan which should become a fine competitor to Porsche and Aston Martin. Convertible is gorgeous and strong which makes us think that it’s better suited for race tracks than for legal streets, but that’s just what makes it so appealing.
