The current Ram 1500 has been facelifted a couple of years back so it is quite new. However, Ram has been making constant updates in order to try and dethrone the current leader, the F-150. Another such an effort is the 2016 Dodge Ram Rebel which is going to be a model option rather than a new car from the Ram 1500.
Just like the name suggests, this new truck is going to look out of the ordinary and it will certainly boost the sales of it by quite a nice margin.
On major downside though is the fact that it is the tenth model in the range, so the buyer will have to weigh a lot of differences before choosing something. This might affect negatively the sales of the truck but it remains to be seen. Over the standard model, the new Rebel features a lot of improvements in terms of aesthetics as well as an improved running gear.

2016 Dodge Ram Rebel Specs and Engine
The suspension system was upgraded so it now offers more than ten inches of clearance as well as 12 inches of wheel travel which is more than any of its competitors. This should allow the truck to handle itself in off-road quite well if not better than most of its competitors.
Engine wise Dodge didn’t change much about the 2016 Dodge Ram Rebel, meaning that the base truck is going to get a 3.6 liter V6 which is good for 305 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. The higher end option is going to be a 5.7 liter V8 with 398 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Both of these will come with rear wheel drive as standard and a 6 speed automatic gearbox. Four wheel drive is going to be optional and so are going to be the lockable differentials.
While both engines are going to offer a nice amount of performance, the fuel consumption will suffer. Some people say that Ram is going to release the Rebel with an improved version of the 3 liter diesel which may offer as much as 300 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque, engine which would allow it to compete with the Raptor with ease! Unfortunately this hasn’t been confirmed as of now by Ram.

Design – Inside and Outside look
Just as we said at the start of this preview, the 2016 Dodge Ram Rebel is going to be a visual update before anything else. The outside of the truck is going to get new 18 inch wheels with all terrain or all season tires, depending on the spec while the biggest chance is going to be at the front of the truck. Here, the old cross-hair grille has been removed for the first time in 15 years to make room for a new interlocking type of design which offers it a more aggressive design.
Other changes include black moldings on the sides to protect it as well as a new set of headlights with black inserts and LED halo rings which give it a really cool look.
On the interior there are changes but not as many as on the outside. The general equipment level is similar to that of a premium Ram but the seats as well as the dashboard are slightly different. The dashboard will now feature red inserts as well as carbon fiber accents while the seats will get the same pattern on the upholstery as on the Toyo tires of the track which is something unique on the market today.
2016 Dodge Ram Rebel Price and Release date
The release date for all of these is going to be in the mid of 2015 or late 2015 at a base price of roughly 35.000 to 45.000 dollars, meaning it is going to be almost as expensive as the TRD Pro Tundra, its main competitor.
