The facelift of the new Challenger model finally took place. The unveiling was highly anticipated though it happened later than expected. 2015 Dodge Challenger stormed New York with new exterior colors, updated front and rear fascias and new wheel designs. The facelift is spectacular enough to keep it highly marketable until the next generation model is unveiled.
Dodge is still under the marvel of its 100th anniversary and 2015 Challenger couldn’t have come at a better time. This muscle car will certainly be part of this summer’s celebrations. Being a new model, it will have special features to offer as compared to the earlier models.
Design – Exterior & Interior
For the Exterior design, Dodge selected on the 1971 facelift which comprises of a more pronounced power bulge bonnet, separate taillights and split front grille. LED halo headlamps are now flanked on the chrome accented grille. A larger trapezoidal intake mounted upside down will be part of the bumper. Other revisions of this model include longer and thinner turn signals, and black bezel fitted fog lamps.
On the rear end are separate taillights with a black glossy background, larger trunk lid spoiler and a reshaped bumper. The overall fit and finish is better compared to the previous models, summing up the car’s modern look. 8 different trim levels are offered for this model from the V6 powered SXT to the Hemi Scat Pact shaker; it also comes with 7 diverse stripe options.
The interior of the 2015 Dodge Challenger features a center console that joins a driver focused instrument panel. Aboard, the cabin is more stylish as a result of the leather wrapped surfaces, new steering wheel, redesigned side bolsters on the front seat, improved cushioning, heated and ventilated seats, polished aluminium inserts and high tech systems such as a 7 inch instrument cluster screen and 8.4 inch infotainment system. Different color selections are offered on this new model.
A 3.6l Pentastar V6 engine with a horsepower rating of 305 will be offered for the SXT plus and SXT trim levels. All R/T variants will use the 5.7l hemi engine delivering 375hp and a torque of 410 lb-ft. The 6.4l Hemi V8 engine will be offered in the Scat Pack and Scat pack Shaker models, having a 485hp and a torque of 475 lb-ft. This new model will definitely offer better performance and efficiency compared to teh current model.
2015 Dodge Challenger Price and release date
The estimated cost for the 2015 Challenger is $26,000. However, the 392 model will go for at most $46,000. 2015 Dodge is expected to hit showrooms by early next year.
